Every figure is either pulled live or drawn from a published US average that we review regularly. Default annual mileage is the US average of 13,500 miles.

Gas and diesel prices come from the EIA national average feed; electricity uses published residential rates for your state. Both refresh regularly.

Gas or charging, servicing, insurance and state registration fees — the costs people forget are the ones that decide it.
Honest either way
If gas or diesel is cheaper for your situation, we say so. No home charging and low mileage often means staying put.
